All upcoming school election ballots must be delivered to the Flathead County Election Department unless mailed. The County is running this election. HFS will NOT have a ballot drop box at the school. The County Election Department address is 290 B North Main, Kalispell, MT. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the HFS Library Monday-Friday, March 2-6th, 2026. You can shop from 8-8:30, 3:30-4, and Wednesday afternoon during conferences. Helena Flats Families, our school phones are still down since we do not have power. If you have an Elementary student please contact your child’s teacher by dojo or another method if possible if we need to keep the student at school for pick up. Helena Flats Families, our school has been out of power, internet and phones for approximately 2 hours. All students are safe and we are providing lunch to all students. In communication with Flathead Electric they can’t give us a timeline for power restoration. Out of an abundance for student safety and caution all students will be dismissed at 1:15pm with buses provided. Please ensure someone is available to meet your child from the bus or pick up at school. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Smartwatches fall under the same criteria as cell phone use at school. Students should not use them for messaging while at school. Every 4th-8th grader at HFS had the opportunity to prove their spelling skills in classroom bees. Winners will compete in our schoolwide competition on Monday, February 9th, at 2:30 in our gym. Family supporters are welcome to join the crowd! Two winners and an alternate will earn a paid lunch at MOD Pizza and move on to the county bee on Monday, February 23rd.
